Advent - December 5th, 2009
"Adventus" is the Latin literal translation of the Greek word “Parousia” which is best translated as fulfilment in English. So this Advent season can be a time of just waiting here and now in the present moment allowing the waiting itself to be the fulfilment for us NOW. It is so easy to fall into the trap of always looking towards the future for something to happen. That way we miss the joy of the present moment Jean Pierre de Caussade a great spiritual teacher refers to the NOW as the “Sacrament of the Present Moment.” So let the waiting just be the fulfilment of the Sacrament of the Present Moment for us each this week.
